Last year over Thanksgiving weekend I had a client that was coming into town. I found out they were going to be in town only a few days and since they would be here in just a couple of days, I already had prior appointments that I could not change. So I stayed up the night before and put together a package for them that basically contained every listing that met their criteria and a map with every listing marked on it, along with some area information. I then left it at their hotel the next morning. They were able to use the information to drive around the area and narrow down to neighborhoods and houses they liked.

Later I was informed by the referring agent that the clients had been very surprised and impressed with the information that I had put together for them and that they had never heard of another agent doing anything like that.

During the fall of 2004,  I worked with a client that was relocating from California. Since they were still living in California, I would email them listings as they came on the market. After months of searching, they finally found a home that would meet their criteria. So in the spring of 2005, we wrote an offer on a house that was to be built and the offer was accepted. However, it would still be a couple of months before Alan & Sarah could move to Vancouver.

So as the house was being built I was a big part of keeping them up to date on the progress of their home. I would go to the house at various stages of construction to take pictures for them. I also helped to facilitate many of the decisions that need to be made during the construction of a custom home. Decisions such as flooring, wall color, appliances, lighting and more. I would find samples to send to them or take pictures of the different options to email to them.

Being an out-of-town buyer can be stressful, especially when there are so many decisions to make. I try to take as much stress out of the process as possible by helping you make important decisions.

Over the years I have worked with quite a few clients that have been relocating to the area and need to buy something before they actually move here.  Usually this involves emailing listings to them and getting everything ready to go (financing, etc) ahead of time. Then when something catches their eye, I would typically gather more information about the property to send to them. Sometimes that would include me previewing the property and taking plenty of pictures of the house and neighborhood to send to them. At this point, if the client was still interested, they would travel to the area to view the property to possibly make an offer.

In the case of Motts & Catherine, they decided to write an offer on such a property after seeing the pictures even though they had never actually walked through the house.

Not all buyers and sellers are in the same situation. I have worked with many out-of-town buyers and sellers and have made the process as simple as possible for them, by doing as much as I can to help them out.
